Last minute tourist information


  • Here is a map which explains how to get from the airport (Verona Villafranca) or the train station (Verona Porta Nuova) to the town centre.
  • Here is a map which shows how to walk from the Train Station (Verona Porta Nuova) directly to the conference venue. Alternatively, you can also take one of several buses from Platform B-1 (lines 11,12,13,51,52,70,72,73) and get off at San Fermo. Early in the morning, the buses might quite crowded though.

What to do over the weekend or after the conference

Note that on Tuesday afternoon, we will have a walking tour of the old centre of Verona, including a visit of the church Sant’Anastasia.

Art exhibition:

There is an exhibition of the art deco painter Tamara De Lempicka in Palazzo Forti in via Massalengo 7, Verona (old town).
The ticket is 13 €, reduced 11 €
It is open from 9:30 to 19:30.

Antiques fair:

On Sunday 4th October in San Zeno’s (a part of town, 10 mins walk from centre) there is “Verona Antiquaria”. The banquets are located in Piazza San Zeno, Piazza Corrubbio, Piazza Pozza, Via S. Procolo, Via Lenotti and Via Porta San Zeno.
The market is open from 8 to 18.
There are over 200 exhibitors from all over northern Italy, offering visitors objects of art and antiques, furniture, ornaments, carpets, clothes and objects of modern, vintage and collectors.

Lake Garda is worth a visit in any case, one can also go by train, or by bus, for a day trip.

On Friday 2nd at 17:30 in Sala Affreschi of the public library, via Cappello 43, there is a concert “Concerto duo Sarab”.
